Referee Training from Pickleball BC – Show of Interest:

Alan Thomson (Head Referee, PBC) has been asked by a couple of PBC clubs to hold referee training. Before a date for the ZOOM sessions can determined, they would like to know how many other PBC members would like to participate in the training.

The following link will take interested individuals to a Sign-up Genius page which gives the details of what will be involved and who the training is intended for.

This is not the actual signup for training, but rather a call out to determine how many & who might be interested. You’ll be invited at a later date to participate in the training when the session times are determined.

CPR Level A/AED Training

CVPA has scheduled a CPR level A course (Basic First Aid with CPR/AED) with St. Johns Ambulance Friday, May 27 from 830 am to 1230pm.  We encourage as many of our members as possible (whether you normally play at Martin Park, Cumberland, or Rotary Highland) to take this lifesaving course.

The cost is $45.00 plus $14.55 for a special mask.  After successfully passing this course, the CVPA will reimburse our members $25.00 each.  To register call 1-866-321-2651, extension 1098, and say you wish to register for the May 27 CPR level A course and that you are a member of the pickleball club.  You will be asked to pay the $59.55.  Register by 3:30 pm, May 24.  The course will be conducted by CVPA member Keith Windle.  The address for the St. Johns office is 84-1742 Cliffe Avenue in Courtenay.  There is a 18 participants maximum and we are hoping to get players from each of our outdoor venues.
