National Pickleball Day a Great Success!

Members of the Comox Valley from the age of 5 to 94 picked up a paddle Saturday to celebrate National Pickleball Day and have some Fun!

The Comox Valley Pickleball Association (CVPA) Open House event at the Rotary Highland Courts welcomed over 300 people from the Valley, 100 of whom had never picked up a paddle before!

Many thanks to our CVPA certified instructors on hand, to teach the rules of the Fastest Growing Sport in North America, direct drills and set up fun play. Volunteers also offered Drop in play, Ball Machine Drills, Free Snacks and Beverages, keeping our courts busy!

Courtenay Mayor Bob Wells, Councillor Dr. Jonathan Kerr and Comox Chief Administrator Officer, Jordan Wall were in attendance as was Constable Landers of the RCMP bringing his Speed Gun to measure service speed!
