March 16th: CVPA and Comox Rec. Centre hosted Campbell River pickleball players in an afternoon of fun and competitive categories of play. A team of 16 traveled south to meet up. We kept it light and didn’t bother with tracking scores and just concentrated on the opportunity to get to play with different players and the opportunity to socialize with our fellow players. Thank you to Harold, Judy and April for organizing this event. Also, special thanks to Carol and Jenny for organizing all our treats to help keep our energy up.
Once again the Christmas potluck was a ton of fun! Enjoy the video and photos below …

On Oct 1,2015 24 players from Comox Valley headed up to Campbell River for an afternoon of pickleball. Play was at the Campbell River Sportsplex – a lovely facility with 6 indoor courts. A big thank you to April for organizing all the play and the goodies and the social following and to Harold for coordinating our local team.
We hope to reciprocate soon and have your gang down to play with us at Comox Community Centre.

This sanctioned event was Round Robin format and winners were first team to 15. A member of the winning team had to referee the next game, which was good experience, albeit a bit rattling for the newbie’s. Refs kept score and called the kitchen lines and the more experienced refs also called service foot faults, SJ volunteered to ref on Saturday. It was great to see Patti on Sunday watching the matches.
We encourage our members to challenge themselves and join in. It is always fun and a wonderful opportunity to play against and socialize with other players. Level of play starts at 3.0.
Nanaimo Pickleball Club and Oliver Woods Rec Centre host fabulous tournaments with such a great facility (8 courts + viewing areas) and is well organized with good eats,
