Members of the Comox Valley from the age of 5 to 94 picked up a paddle Saturday to celebrate National Pickleball Day and have some Fun!
The Comox Valley Pickleball Association (CVPA) Open House event at the Rotary Highland Courts welcomed over 300 people from the Valley, 100 of whom had never picked up a paddle before!
Many thanks to our CVPA certified instructors on hand, to teach the rules of the Fastest Growing Sport in North America, direct drills and set up fun play. Volunteers also offered Drop in play, Ball Machine Drills, Free Snacks and Beverages, keeping our courts busy!
Courtenay Mayor Bob Wells, Councillor Dr. Jonathan Kerr and Comox Chief Administrator Officer, Jordan Wall were in attendance as was Constable Landers of the RCMP bringing his Speed Gun to measure service speed!
In recognition of National Pickleball Day we are hosting an Open House at the Rotary Highlands Pickleball Courts, 775 Torrence Road, Comox. This Celebration is open to the Public

In addition to our 550 members, The Comox Valley Pickleball Association (CVPA) is happy to extend invitations to the general public, Recreation Managers and elected officials to enjoy a great day on the courts!
We hope to see you there!
Beat the heat with two new fun indoor tournaments! On July 22 we’re hosting a Round Robin Tournament for CVPA members only. And on July 29, come see if you can beat the rest in a speedy 90 Minute Tournament, open to both CVPA members and the general public. Both events take place at the CVRD Sports Complex, Ice Arena #2 on the dry ice surface.
For further details and to register, please click here!
We’re also offering an indoor clinic. All the good stuff like serves, returns, dinks, third shots and volleys will be covered. This clinic is aimed at 3.25 – 3.75 level players.
Free drilling & training sessions are located throughout the valley in May, June & July to help CVPA members level up. Check out our training page for additional details and to sign up.
The Comox Valley Pickleball Association is pleased to announce that Rod Hamilton (President) has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Pickleball Canada Organization.
Along with the recent appointment of Rick Folk (Past President) to the Board of Directors of Pickleball B.C. the Comox Valley Pickleball Association is well represented at the local, regional and national levels.
As pickleball continues to grow our Association will have a voice at the table to help steer the sports direction while keeping firmly in mind that we are all here to have fun and enjoy the activity we love.
